osey Chan isn’t your everyday
achiever, she’s an achiever par excellence. With multiple feathers on her head
and only one ambition to pursue- make music. Her journey to making music isn’t
about lyrical adventures; it’s about the constant involvement of influences
that helps her keeping an open and aesthetic mind. The multi talented Miss Chan
quotes attending The Royal College of Music broadened her ambition and the way
she perceived music. Music as they say is the language of the soul, which helps
breaking existing barriers and becomes a common medium around the world. After
having graduated from the Royal College of Music, Miss Chan collaborated with
Miss Cassie Yukawa only to be known as the Yukawa Chan duo who burst into the
UK music scene in the year 2003 with extraordinary performances at the London
South bank Centre, Wigmore Hall and Steinway Hall. In addition to these
performances the Miss Chan along with Miss Yukawa have performed at the
prestigious Royal Albert Hall, London with classical artistes. As compared to
Miss Yukawa who was born in London with mixed parentage of English and
Japanese, Miss Chan’s journey began when she was accepted at the Royal College
of Music in the year 1992 with a scholarship to study piano and violin. From
being competitors to being collaborators Yukawa- Chan duo have since then been
the talk of the town having been called as the “Four hands one piano”.
Revealing her plans in near future includes an orchestral collaboration with
the English Chamber Orchestra and recording a solo album with improvisations.
