A night under the silent sky

So beautiful I remember that night was,

With winds swirling by my side,
Like a fish in the tumbling tide,
Ever experienced this before??
Asked the trees to me as they roared,
Dumbstruck with the beauty around,
“No”, I said.. touching the soft grass that lay on the ground,
“I never knew a land like this existed before..
Like the curtailed dream of the thing I wanted in galore”,
“Maybe you never saw this the way..
You are looking at it today”.
“Open your heart to the world around, said one tree,
Believe in actions, and success will come to thee,
You may not realize this soon enough,
But as many bad times you encounter, it will make you more tough..
For every experience makes you learn some or the other thing,
You just have to stand for what you believe in,
Believe you can do it,
And you are already half way there.
No matter what others have to say,
No one tells you about yourself more than you may,
Ignore the voices that will try to pull you back,
They are those stinking shoes that no one wears,
And are about to be thrown out of the rack.
Never stop dreaming, because nothing is impossible,
Stay focused and live your dream,
You will achieve it, no matter how tough the way to your dream seems.

Samay ke saath behti...

Kehte hain yeh waqt rukta nahi kisi ki liye,
Saanson ke shuru hote hi aur saanson ke rukte tak,
Chalta hain ye jeevan apni gati se,
Bahut modh aate hain iss jeevan ke pahiye par,
Samay kaa haath thaam kar yuhin sang tu chal,
Mil jaati hain manzil yuhin hausla rakh kar,
Ki saamne khadi hain manzil teri,
Bas samajh naa paa raha hain tu use,
Apni aankh nahi, dil ke darwaaze ko khol,
Disha dikhaayega ye dil tujhe,
Aisa apne aap se bol.
Mann karta hain hawaa mein kaash udh sakta main,
Yuhin udte panchiyon ki tarah neele gagan ke neeche,
Behte neele paani ki tarah beh jaata khwaabon ko sahej ke,
Gum ho jaata inn hawaaon mein kahin,
Khwaabon ko par lagaake,
Yuhin udh jaaoon main door kahin sabse.

The girl I met on a rainy day..

The girl I met on a rainy day,
Seeing her I couldn’t keep my eyes away,
There was something strange about her,
The depth in her eyes with so many things to share.
I kept looking at her as if the time wouldn’t stop,
Rain that fell simultaneously drop by drop,
The weather went cold capturing every expression of her,
I kept glaring at her my eyes just wouldn’t blink,
I kept drowning in her eyes just like a metal in water would sink,
The cool breeze went stronger as it blew,
Our umbrellas that followed the wind as they flew,
I didn’t realise what was happening, was it true?
Or was this just a figment of my imagination like a multi hue.

Introvert's Feelings

Ever since I saw her the first time,
I just couldn't wait to see her again,
Everytime I saw her,
I wished I could talk to her,
Everytime I talked to her,
I wished I could spend more time with her,
And everytime I spent more time with her,
I just wished I could tell her how I felt for her,
But everytime I tried telling it to her....
I woke up from my dreams,
only to realize...that this was just another dream,
in which I fail everytime to tell her,
Realizing the fact that she is 3000 miles away from me somewhere,
And probably I will never be able to see her again,
All I am left is with a discontented heart with a tremendous amount of pain....
my thoughts and me

Mumbai in the clutches of "Terror"

Ever since I knew,
Mumbai was called "City of Dreams" by few,
The city which never slept,
Peace, joy and harmony which crept,
City that nested a mix bundle of people,
A city which had liveliness in everything whether big or little,
City that knew no bounds,
City which is now under the threat of "terror spreading hounds",
Number of attacks which the city suffered,
Didn't let the spirit of locals go down with fear,
There was no one who could make things clear,
Until some brave policemen fought it out till their last breathe here,
No matter how hard they tried,
They unfortunately failed to survive,
This is the tale of 26/11,
Which can not be forgotten by anyone,
Yesterday, dear Mumbai witnessed yet another attack,
Throwing our confidence on National Security again out of track,
Yet there is no one to be blamed,
Till the time We, the Indians don't understand this game,
A game which the screwed up foreign agencies have been playing on us,
And we, the Indians, have been bearing all this without creating any ruckus,
Still waiting for the time, when our Indians will wake up to a new dawn,
When there will be victory of good over evil, and all the miseries gone,
Still waiting for my country to show the "terror hounds" who we are,
Country that can show them their place even in the most difficult hour.

Manipal: Manipal University (MU), with the support of the Patanjali Yoga Peeth, Hariand Swabhiman Trust, Udupi organised an interactive session with yoga guru, Rishi H H Baba Ramdev on 16 April at KMC Greens. The meeting was held to discuss the advantages of yoga.

Baba Ramdev discussed the advantages of practising yoga, how it plays an important role in curing many diseases and helps a person maintain his or her health. He also discussed how some diseases can be cured by yoga, instead of heavy medication.  He spoke about corruption in India and discussed the reasons which lead to corruption and the need for people to unite to reduce it.

“The way Yoga Guru Ramdevji interacted was very lively and filled with enthusiasm,” said Prof K Ramnarayan, Vice-Chancellor, MU.

“It is a very inspiring abhiyaan, where a yoga guru is spreading and promoting yoga amongst all age groups from youth to senior citizens,” said Shyam Bhat radio co-ordinator from Manipal Institute of Communication, and member of the audience.

Is Economic Growth the "TRUE Development"?

Development, the word itself describes a meaning or in simpler words development can be termed as "proliferation" in a country  or "building up" for a nation. As far as a country is concerned , development does mean a lot, Development can be linked to economic growth, economic growth indicates an economy of a country or it's GDP. Having an economy of $3.3 Trillion after humangous economies of $14.3 Trillion and $8 Trillion of The United States and China respectively does not make India a developed or a developing country , not alone economy but there are other factors as well which contribute to Development. The reason why India comes under LEDC(Less Economically Developed Country) and not an MEDC is because there are many other sectors which still should be considered when it comes to development of a country. Sectors like National Security, Healthcare and one of the most important Education also need to be considered when it comes to true development. Education sectors in MEDC'S like US, UK, CHINA, JAPAN have recorded, established and maintained an education literacy rate of 99% as compared to India's literacy rate of just 66%, even today when the higher authorities(our own Government) sometimes talk about development in rural areas of India promising "n" number of facilities in the face of development none of them is actually implemented and as a matter of fact, when people show reluctancy regarding everything with what means can India be even termed as a "Developing Nation" forget about being called a "Developed Nation" !
Healthcare Industry also stresses a lot of importance when it comes to development of India. Are adequate medical facilities being provided and are safety measures being taken to ensure lives of people? For example Kasturba Medical College Manipal had conducted this Mock Drill for Disaster Management just to see and check their preparedness for any hazard if in case any disaster takes place, frankly speaking after covering the Mock Drill for a STUDENT NEWS WEBSITE facilities were quite impressive, but the ratio of doctors and patients was found to be quite inadequate, there were some 3 interns and 2 qualified doctors including some PG students which was supposedly enough for around 15-16 patients. What if someday an actual disaster happens will a mere group of 5 doctors be able to attend 15 patients what if simultaneously every patient is found to be in a very critical condition and even during the mock drill one major fault was student reporters directly barged into the Emergency Triage area which is supposedly called as an attending room for patients in real world a reporter during any REAL disaster is not even allowed to barge in the hospital. This was the case with KMC but what about other good hospitals all around the country, many a times we see patients and victims dying either in the hospital or due to negligience shown towards their treatment and some die unattended !!! Giving some weird reason that the hospital was not ready with the ambulance or sometimes there was shortage of ambulance this becomes the reason amongst other which affect the Healthcare Industry and in turn questions the Country's attention towards Healthcare Industry because after all it is ultimately the "Government of India" which is running our country and is responsible for everything including social, economical growth along with all the citizens of India.
To conclude Government still has a lot to cover in our country and a huge amount of garbage that needs to be cleaned as soon as possible which can nearly take another 15-20 years...
